there is something about being in basic training that makes a guy go gah-gah over his girlfriend.  I don't know what it is, but I saw it from every guy I was in basic with....many of them married their g/f's right after....

p.s. dont listen to that other guy, your boyfriend isn't so much as going to see another girl during basic, unless its a drill seargant, and they aren't going to be on friendly terms

When my husband (fiance at the time) left for basic he was never the type to express his feelings in detail. After a few weeks in basic I was receiving the most heartfelt letters Ive ever read. It was like a totally different person. I loved it though.  He told me that without my letters he would have felt alone in basic. Yes they are with a couple hundred guys but having someone at home that you know cares about you really keeps you going. Just tell him your proud of him in your letters, give him daily news/sports scores, and try to be as positive as possible. Send him a couple of cute picture (nothing too revealing though). lol. His buddies WILL see them. He will be dreaming of the day he sees you..trust me. Hope this helps!

  Ah yes, absence makes the heart grow fonder !  You will see in his letters how his feelings for you get stronger as each week goes by.

Enjoy it while you can because many young people are searching for the unknown.  I say this to open your eyes to reality, not to discourage you in any way.

His life will change a lot in the next few years, some for the better, and some for the worse.  Your life will change too, because you are both at that age in life when change is the one thing you can rely on as happening !
