My boyfriend lied to me, how do I trust him now?

Found out my bf of four months lied to me about his age. He's really three years older than he originally told me. Do you think it's a big deal? Once a liar always a liar? How do I trust him?

Up until now we have had no problems and I've had no complaints about our relationship. He's been perfect other than this one lie...I'm just having a really hard time seeing past it.

Is it true everyone lies? Is this to be expected? What would you do if you were me?

I would wonder why he lied about his age and what else he lied about.  There has to be a reason why, but lying is still wrong.  I would confront him about why he lied and if he refuses to say (whether by making it look like he's joking or just is rude) I would ask him if he'd like someone who prefers a liar.
