My boyfriend said he is 4 percent body fat?

hes skinny but has muscles and stuff.

it just seemed like he must be confused

It is possible, but not likely. I dont even think its very healthy. =/

Its bull. Body builders have ~3% body fat when they're cutting for a show, which takes a large amount of effort, and is just temporary.

If he does have 4% body fat, he is annorexic (though he wouldnt have muscles), or a secret body builder.

It's possible but unlikely unless he is a competitive body builder getting ready for a competition. Lots of people seriously underestimate their body fat percentages.

that would look REALLY unhealthy... where did he get that number? if it was from an electronic scale those things are insanely off.

Ask him what method was used to test his bodyfat. He may be in the 8% range if he is skinny with a little muscle but I doubt 4% as that is near death.

It is possible. Men have lower body fat percentages than women. Men range between 8% - 16 % while women can range from 18% - 25 %. I am talking about a healthy body fat range. Although he is on the low side, it is very possible.

People who lie about their body fat% usually always cheat on their partners 94% of the time. I know this must be tough for you, I'm really sorry you had to find out this way.....
