I recently whet muddin and my brakepads make a horrible noise. I took the brakepads off and I cleaned them, but they still make the noise....are there any products that I can use to make the noise stop...or should I just buy new breakpads

  1. It's also possible, but kind of unlikely...you could have a stick or a rock stuck between your caliper and the rotor. Unlikely though if you pulled the calipers all the way off to pull off the pads.

  2. some cheeper pads have done that to me too you can try a good old fashion brake cleaner

  3. sounds like you "glazed" your pads.  You can try pulling them off and roughin them with a rasp but you'll probably end up changing them out.

If you change them you might also consider machining your rotors.

  4. take the pads off and take a piece of sand paper to them ,their glazed ,sand paper will knock the glaze off and stop this from happening,we do it all the time, good luck.

  5. Going Muddin may have put stress on the braking system. You could have warped your rotors, put a groove in them or worn down through your pads to the metal strip that makes them squeak. The strip is there to remind you it's time to change pads.

If you are capable of taking the pads out for cleaning I'd suggest just dropping some new ones in.  It would be fairly cheap and you'd know it's not the pads if the problem continues.
