My brakes arent working after my Caliper piston popped out, HELP PLEASE!?

Hi

Today I replaced my brake pads but during the process my Caliper piston popped out when my friend pushed on the brakes. This happened on both sides, We completely emptied the brake fluid out of the lines and now I have put in a little bit of fluid back into the master cylinder. It's all back together how I found it, and I pump the brakes but it Doesn't take any fluid out of the Master Cylinder. I can push the brake pedal down to the bottom of the floor with little to no effort.

Could this be due to air in the brake lines? or a seal problem?

Correct answers will be very helpful thanks!

  1. you will need to bench bleed the master cylinder first step. meaning , disconnect the lines connected to the master cylinder and connect a hose from the master cyl  to the reservoir so that when u pump the pedal slow, the fluid goes back to the reservoir. then when all the air is removed from the

master cyl, reconnect the lines. then gravity bleed all four wheels unless you have nine, then bleed all nine. :P monitor the reservoir level at all times.  the seals

should be ok. unless its put back twisted. but i trust you guys its not. have fun.

  2. Wow what are friends for? lmao

u need to bleed the system through to get all the air out. U will find the bleed nipple on the callipers. Do all 4 wheels & be care-full of contamination. Try using a different friend.

    Good Luck.

  3. You'll have to bleed the front brake system, may as well do the whole system. when the piston came out of the caliper all the fluid was displaced with air. Also, with the system open air entered the lines as well. So now you'll have to purge[bleed] the  brake system of all the air . Get a 'BIG' can of brake fluid, and make sure the work is done by a qualified person.

                                        "BRILLIANT"!!!!

  4. YOU WILL HAVE TO BLEED YOUR BRAKES AT EACH WHEEL BEGIN WITH RIGHT REAR WHEEL THE LEFT REAR WHEEL THEN RIGHT FRONT THEN LEFT FRONT WHEEL UNTIL ALL AIR IS BLEED THEN YOU SHOULD BE FINE BE SURE TO FILL YOUR MASTER CYLINDER DON'T ALLOW IT TO BECOME EMPTY DURING BLEEDING PROCESS.
