My brand new HCT 19in TV screen shuts off automatically..?

i just recently baught a HCT 19 in LCD TV. I went home hooked it up and the screen shuts off automatically after 10 minutes,you can still hear the sound. it works again when i turn off the tv and turn it back on but then the time it stays on decreases. i do not know what the deal is because i tried everything. Im trying to hook it up to an Xbox but even when i have the xbox off it still continues to shut off.. can someone please help me before i throw this tv out the window.. I baught this at Hanson PX, in okinawa, JP. thank you!

This almost sounds like something is overheating.  The key is that you say when you turn it off and back on it starts working but it fails quicker, and the audio never fails (meaning its probably not some automatic shutoff thats just set real short).

If its new I think I'd just return it for exchange.
