She wants a small wedding on the beach , a picnic reception using pink tones . She doesn't want it to look bad though . She wants it to be romantic and memorable but note she doesn't want a diva wedding . So any ideas would help out a lot .

  1. Having a wedding on a beach is such a gorgeous backdrop, it will be easy to make it gorgeous but laid-back. Youll need tables and chairs, and linens. Youll need to rent plates, glasses, and silverware. No plastic or paper. If you use a caterer, they will have these items on hand.

Just make the tables simple but nice. Candles with smooth rocks around would be lovely centerpieces. If you have nice chairs and linens, thats all youll need! Let the beach do the rest.

  2. Firstly im giving you a star for making her dreams come true!

You can makeup picknic baskets and hang them in trees with a open blanket on the ground. You can have pink rose balls hanging from the trees! WOW that will look nice!

  3. just think of something to surprise her

  4. A picnic on the beach would surely be memorable, but the practicality of it is a little daunting.

things to think about: wind, sand, wind, rain, wind, spray, wind, bugs, wind

The one thing you will always find at any beach is wind, and plenty of it.  Think about where people go to fly kites: the beach, where the wind is unimpeded.  Now think about those lovely tablecloths, dresses, canopies- and what lovely kites they will make.

four more words: sand in the food

weather is also a serious concern, a wet bride is an unhappy bride.

sorry...but I would veto a picnic on the beach.

If you can get a picnic shelter at a nearby inland PARK, though or rent a tent, that might solve your problems.   The park will not have the same wind issues as the beach.  Your major problem at a park is crowd control. (you don't want passers-by crashing your wedding)

Simple, nice tableclothes, "crystal" plastic ware (available at your local warehouse club) fresh or silk flowers for the tables, and you're set.

Serve some up-scale picnic foods.  Food and Wine has a sample menue: http://www.foodandwine.com/articles/picn...

go with a theme cake, rather than a traditional wedding cake: a nautical theme, or a picnic theme.

  5. Oh Wow. What would look great.

How about having tables set up with pink table clothes, pink candles, pink flowers & white plates.

Or even if tables had clear glass bowls in the middle of the table with pink floating candles in them - that looks really pretty, my sister had that at her wedding.

Even tiki torches around the place would look good.

It's simple but still would look gorgeous.

  6. Give her the checkbook and tell her to make it happen.

  7. light pink table clothes for tables or pink blankets if you want to do the full on picnic theme.

Picnic food either homemade or gourmet catered picnic with lots of finger type foods.

    Small picnic baskets for favors

You can do a morning ceremony on the beach and a brunch or lunch style picnic or later in the day and have tiki torches and maybe a bon fire if allowed.

  8. First of all, and most importantly, not all people get excited about eating on the beach because they do not want sand in their sandwiches so you need to find a place that is NOT windy.

Getting married "on the beach" is a great idea but I strongly suggest taking "the reception" to another location.  Why?  Because whether they are invited or not every seagull within fifty miles will be there.  Have your caterer pack some picnic baskets and go to a pavilion or reserved picnic area NOT the beach.  Your menu can be as simple as broasted chicken or chicken salad sandwiches with fancy cupcakes and fresh fruit.  Add some iced tea or lemonade.  Cutting a wedding cake will be very difficult at a beach so that is why I suggested the fancy cupcakes.
