My broccoli has got yellow flowers on it is it to late to eat?

this is my first year of growing veg and my small headed broccoli is growing yellow flowers on can i eat them now of is it to late for picking

Well, you can still eat it if you wish but it's already gone old and there ain't much of a freshness anymore.

You have waited too long to harvest.  You can eat the broccoli, but depending on how later you are it won't have the

texture and flavor you are used to.

Cut the flowering stem off and in a couple of weeks you should start to get side shoots at the leaf axels. (how many, depends on the variety you are growing ) Don`t leave them so long next time!
