  1. LOL - did you say something to them?  Where did this happen?  There needs to be some details to what happened.  Was it 4 AM in South Central - then your asking for trouble.  If it was in the middle of the day walking outside the supermarket - well that would be something else.

Was the guy beating your brother - was his name Barak or Obama?

  2. many (but not all) American black people live in a culture of hate and crime.  they do not have morals or values and do not live in a civil manner, next time you go to America, ensure you stay away from any ghetto black people to prevent this from happening again

  3. It was not because you were Australian, but you were white.  The fact that you were not Americans simply made you more vulnerable.

Blacks in some urban areas live with a pack mentality.  Instead of individually striving to be better and getting out of there, they join gangs.  Why?  Because anyone who doesn't is fair game for the pack.  They are self-defeating because they put the emphasis not on achievement, but pack loyalty.

  4. I have to agree with the guy, Tyler, who answered before me, though I'm sure we will both receive hate mail for it. Also, I'm a little concerned that his avatar looks a lot like a Swastika. Blacks have gotten a raw deal for hundreds of years and it's been difficult for them to pull themselves out of poverty and gang activity. When Italians and Irish came to the US there was a lot of prejudice against them at first, but they successfully integrated into society because they were white and once you've been here for two generations you talk like everyone else, you obviously look like everyone else, so integrating is easy. Sadly, an educated black man or woman still looks black and people don't always see beyond that.

I am hoping that if Obama is elected it will provide a lot of young blacks in the ghetto with inspiration. The sad fact is that other black people have also told them for years that the white man is out to get them so there's no use even trying to better yourself. Obama sends a different message.

  5. As a Canadian I can relate, traveling in the States it's difficult to remain aware of that dynamic when it doesn't exist in the same way where we come from. The sad fact is that many Blacks in America live and grow up in the most abject poverty and hopelessness, in an environment that breeds anger and hate. In that environment the classical oppressor white people, become the enemy. That's not to make any generalizations whatsoever but rather to acknowledge that it exists, that it's a problem and it's not completely rational.

  6. Their great grandparents were sold into slavery by white people and even their parents would have been discriminated against by white people.

There's a lot of resentment there for past persecution.
