  1. You don't need to be ordained.  Just go to your county courthouse and find out how to become registered as a wedding officiant for your state.

  2. your brother and fiance want you to marry them? thats weird. Anyway here is a site to go to http://www.themonastery.org/

    Edit:

I got a thumbs down, the way its worded i read it as Her Brother and her fiance...it doesn't read her brother and his fiance. Either way I gave her a site that ordains people online.

  3. The series 'Friends' has caused a lot of trouble with their episode of Joey being able to marry whoever he did.

There's been some trouble with online ordinations & some states won't accept them.  You need to call your Secretary of State (located in the Capitol) and see what is required for someone to legally solemnize marriages where you live.  It's different in each state.

Here in Ohio you must be ordained & licensed.

Understand too, there is more to performing a wedding ceremony than reading a script.  We bring with us experience & education.  There's a lot of 'behind the scenes' work.

  4. Better yet, become a Notary Public, and you can marry them legally and still use and sell your services later...

  5. I would not seek to become ordained if I did not believe I had been called to the ministry/priesthood.  Any organization that will ordain someone who has not demonstrated such a call and completed an appropriate course of study sounds suspect and unethical, even if it happens to be legal.  If a notary public can indeed perform marriages in New Jersey, that seems a more reasonable route to go.

  6. First, unless you want to be a minister or priest, you won't be "ordained" - what you need to look for is licensing. Ordination is a religious procedure, done by a church authority, and requires several years of study - basically like going to college. You're looking for a secular (non-religious) legal procedure that will allow you to be legally licensed to perform weddings in your state.

What you might do is call your local courthouse (if you are a New Jersey resident) - they will tell you the requirements to be licensed to perform marriages in New Jersey. It might be as simple as filling out a form and paying a small fee, or it could be much more complicated.

  7. My friends got married last month, and had one of our friends do it. He contacted the state (where you apply for the marriage license, then turn it in), and they referred him to a website that they would accept. It cost him $10.

  8. super easy and free on ulc.org check it out

  9. Check and see if online ordinations are legal than Google them. Oftentimes it will be free or really inexpensive. I know two people who got ordained this way. One just because he could, and the other because he wanted to start a church.
