He's been in hospital for almost 2 months and is now starting to show improvement. His vocal chords are damaged from being on a ventilator for 5 weeks. He can talk, but you can't hear him so if you can read lips, you're good. If not, you're sol. I want to find some cards with commonly used words & phrases so he can say "I want to go outside" or "My leg hurts" or... Help?

  1. He will probably have a physical therapist and an Occupational therapist and Speech therapists who will be able to direct you to what ever you are looking for but  I can give you a few web sites where you can buy devices to assist with getting messages across. You might also consider some simple signs that are easy and have been useful to us.  I have a disabled daughter and we use signing a lot with her when she can't think of the words.  Good luck and I hope he feels better.

  2. Why dont u just print them on the computer or write them your self?

Btw, i hope he gets better.
