  1. It is not  Bull S%%$t he should man up and accept the responsibilty

  2. If your brother has a learner's permit and your sister can legally be with him in the passenger's seat, then your brother is covered. It will go on the insurance of the car owner.

Thus, no, it is not best to say your sister was driving.

  3. When I was on a learner's permit 30 years ago I hit a pedestrian.  There wer no negative consequences to our insurance or my driving record.  (and the lady was ok, too.)

When my kids were on permits recently, our insurance company explained that they did not need insurance, because they were learning under the superviosion of a licensed driver, who would be responsible in case of an accident.  This was in California.

I definitely think that "honesty is your best policy."  If the care and the licensed driver are insured then the brother on the permit should be fine.  (Sorry about the honesty ****, but I think you'll be better off with it).

    Best of luck,

    MM

  4. ...we're trying to help our brother out. so dont give me honesty...

Based on that comment, you are going to do as you please and apparently have no integrity, so why bother to ask?

  5. ok he as a learner drivers permit and he was driving in a car with your sister in the passanger seat, the car is owned by your dad. now presuming that your sister is insured to drive your dads car you have no problem, but a quick way to sort the probem out is offer to pay for the other drivers repairs thus NOT going through the insurance company, this is compleatly leagal and is an alternetive for new drivers who dont want to lose thair no claims disscount.

if your sister is not insured to drive your dads car and the other driver wants to go through the insurence company your brother may be in for a hard time, big fine and a possible 6 month ban. hope this is of some help
