  1. thalassemia is an autoimmune disorder that affects the production of mature rbc in the bone marrow this is due to the unpaired globin chains that hemoglobin has. The antibody will attack the rbc becuase of it's unpaired globins. There are two type of thalassemia; the thalassemia-A and thalassemia-B. This will differ on what globin is being unpaired.

now, in case of severity it depends on how it affects the other organs in the body. Thalassemia would lead to hepatomegally(enlargement of the liver) and slpeenomegally( enlargement of the spleen) because of the excessive iron storage) from the hemolysis of the rbc.

    treatment:

most of the case this will be treated and stop through bone marrow transplant but this is very risky and expensive.

ask your doctor for more info's

blood transfusion is also a management for this kind of dse.

  2. I'm sorry but these types of brain trammas are very resistant to any treatment.I'm sure the doctors have told you this or you would not be asking here.

  3. i think you mean thalassaemia, that is a form of anaemia. you need to take him to a doctor who will prescribe the  right medication for your brother's condition.

  4. Thalisimiya is not an ordinary disease. Why are you asking about medicines here???  Just ask the doctor who is treating your brother.

  5. It depends on the type of thalassaemia and it's severity as to how the disease is treated. You also can't give him anything, but go and ask the doctor. Things he/she might recommend are iron supplements, folic acid, regular blood transfusions and something called hydroxyurea, which promotes formation of a different sort of haemoglobin (the compound that carries oxygen in the blood and is abnormal in thalassaemia). Honestly though, get your brother to see a haematologist who can perform the necessary investigations and help to formulate a sensible plan.

  6. i think  he needs regular transfusion than medicines
