  1. While I sympathize with his fears, he has to see this though, he will go to jail and get a dishonorable discharge that will haunt him for the rest of his life if he runs.  He needs to go back on his own right now, the punishment will be way less then if military has to go find him.  What was the MOS he signed when he joined up, was it infantry or something else.  He maybe able to get another MOS when he returns to duty, it will take a lot of work on his part but he might be able to transfer into another job unless his test scores were really bad.

  2. The whole deal with  the Army now is that all soldiers regardless of their job description are trained in combat.  A lot more than Infantry soldiers have killed an enemy in combat.  Maybe he should have joined Green Peace instead of the Army.  Tell him to get his butt back to whatever post he ran away from and finish up his training and the commitment that he made to his country when he signed the contract, raised his hand in the air and said "I, state your name, do solemnly swear or affirm to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice, so help me god."  If he quits now he will regret it for the rest of his life whether he will admit it or not.  If he doesn't then he doesn't deserve to breath American air or stand on American soil.  In my opinion these people should be tossed out of the country and let in an immigrant who actually wants to be living in the greatest country in the world, and who has the intestinal fortitude to protect his or her freedom that so many have gave their lives for.  Sorry to ramble but people like your brother make me literally sick to my stomach.

  3. It's wartime.  He's gonna be in trouble, no matter what.  He should consult an attorney yesterday!

  4. turn him in the coward.

  5. there must be some process to get out if you really cant be there anymore

  6. Tell him that he needs to get his (as said before) pansy *** back..

He is turning his back on his country, therefore a disgrace to this country..therefore to all of us. Im sorry to hear about the deaths in the family but seriosuily, no reason to run away from something you started.

You start it, You end it..end of story

  7. tell him to get his pansy *** back to training and man up. He will get a dishonorable discharge and will me looked down as a deserter his whole life. It is an embarrassment to your family and im pretty sure there is a court marshal in there somewhere where he will get convited as a criminal.

  8. Tell him to by a lot of winter clothes and learn the words to "Oh Canada".

  9. So, why did he join the military? I cant believe he thought he would never have to pick up a gun to defend himself!

  10. He need to turn himself in, infantry is one of the scariest job in my eyes my brother was infantry then a ranger and he told us some very sad and scary things, just be there for him and tell him to fight it at all costs if all else fails go to canada!

  11. do not harbor him. you will go to jail for harboring a fugitive, so to speak. evidently he shows signs of some mentally instability, he may be able to get out on a psychological discharge. Most importantly,he needs to turn himself in.

You say his license got suspended. What license is that? And why?

  12. he can get chaptered as failure to adapt but they have to really believe that the military is not for him. I've had battles mouth off to the 1sg or just get into trouble again and again and are getting chaptered but it doesn't sound like your brother would wanna stand up to a 1sg. also if he has dependents (someone he is caring for) he can get chaptered if there is no one to take care of them.

  13. COWARD or not.

You cant trust this guy with your life or a gun.

You dont want him to consider suicide.

If  youre enlisted a very short amount of time and are retarded or lied about something during enlistment, or get in too much trouble they boot you and forget about you, no courtmartial or anything. I dont know how long he was in or how the army handles that stuff exactly.

Call the base, ask for the Legal Office.

  14. it is a crime to go AWOL from the military...what did he think he was going to do in the military??? he is there to protect and serve the USA...if he didn't want to possiblily kill someone then he should have gone into being a cook for those who knew exactly what the military was all about before they signed the contract...

  15. Don't listen to the first idiots, I would talk with someone, tell him to brave himself a bit and tell the commanding officer or someone in charge that while he'ss willing to serve his country he just can't do it with killing people upfront. There's other things he can do that doesn't involve a gun BUT while there he'll need to buck up and play along with the rules, oyu might not want to kill and have it in you but when it comes down to it, it's either you or them, and I'll pick myself when it's one on one.

Don't run, it's not worth it, just talk to someone plz. There's no shame in it, h**l, I would be in the same boat, I couldn't do it.

  16. Best to turn himself in.  The longer the wait the worse it will get.

His license got suspended so they were going to send him to the infantry that story doesn't seem to add up.

He can't kill another person well guess what infantry doesn't do all the killing anyways it is a war you never know when you may have to defend yourself.

Your father passed away 2003 and who is her?

He didn't think about this before he signed come on now.

  17. have him look into conciencious objector status or some designation where he wishes to serve but has discovered his aversion to killing.  The way the military is using troops these days, I would think they would rather have someone they can use behind the lines than to chuck him out the door.

Tell him to hurry up, since he is correct that he doesn't want the deserter tag.
