My brother stained my mom's quartz/granite kitchen countertop! Please help!?

You can see the image above. I feel so bad for my mom. Her countertop looks ruined. It's honed finished Caesarstone (quartz). My brother put a hot teapot on it and left it there. It made a perfect circle on the countertop that looks like it lightened the finish. We just can't tell if its an overlay over the countertop, or it actually took away something from the countertop.

Help! Any ideas? Any experts out there? Can we polish the surface with anything? Buff it? Stain it?

Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

  1. oh myyy...

try getting a pro to buff it out or go to home depot or some store like that and get advice...in the mean time..buy your mom flowers and put them in a nice vase to cover it up lol

  2. I am so sorry, but you have damaged the surface. Caesarstone is heat resistant up to 300 degrees farenheit. If you place a hot pot on the counter, and leave it there, it will damage it. Caesarstone is not treated with a sealant, it does not need to be. furthermore, dont make it worse! As with any surface, CaesarStone can be permanently damaged by exposure to strong chemicals and solvents that undermine its physical properties. Do not use products that contain trichlorethane or methylene chloride, such as paint removers or strippers. Avoid any highly aggressive cleaning agents like oven/grill cleaner that have high alkaline/PH levels.

  3. call someone who installs the product and get their professional advice. It may not be fixable but they may have a product that can be used to color it basck to the original shade. Not likely but worth asking.
