  1. User guide here:

Although to be honest it's probably faulty-so send it back.

Get a new one from here:

  2. bt's own tech support for product its not much but all there is

    No incoming or outgoing calls

Check that the phone is plugged in.

Make sure that the customer has tried this and another phone in the main socket.

    [top] Bell not ringing

Check the ringer volume switch is not set to off.

May have too many phones plugged in.  The Converse 1100 has a REN value of one.  If the total REN value exceeds four, the phones may not ring.

    [top] Tone dialling

The Converse 1100 is pre-set to tone dialling.  This ensures the phone will work with all modern exchanges.

Check the dialling mode switch on the underside of the phone.

[top] Cannot hear the telephone ring

Check the ringer volume is on.

    [top] Message Waiting switch

The Converse 1100 is pre-set to work with BT 1571 on a normal exchange line.

If on a switchboard you may need to change the switch setting on the base of the phone.

Try setting 1571.  If this does not work try the other settings.
