My budgerigar's cere is pink. is this a male or female

i know that male budgies have blue ceres. and feamles have brown ones. but what about pink cere?

  1. It's either a female or too soon to tell.  You won't mistake the blue in the males.

    If it is BLUE then it is a MALE.

    No question about that.  You own a cutie female budgie.

    Pinkish means it is a young female.

  6. It depends on how old it is and the color of the ceres. Do you know how old your budgie is? He he matured? Did he start to molt? You can tell by how many stripes are on his cap (head) The more the stripes means the younger the bird is. But yes males will have blue-purple ceres and females will have tan-brown-pink.

    If it is pink, then it should be a SHE ...when they all are young ...the young male shows the color of light blue , and the young female is pink , when they are older , the male is dark blue and female is nearly purple . TM.
