My budgerigar is making constant soft chirping noises similar to when she's falling asleep. At times she tilts her head on the side as well. We've had her for several years but she's only started this recently (chirping while not falling asleep). I'm a little worried about her. Please do not answer unless you can actually help me.

  1. Its normal. They look asif they are falling asleep actually they are not. Mine does that too.

    So don't worry.

  2. When a budgie is happy or calm it will start to make soft chirping sounds. My budgies do it all the time when we watch tv or leave them alone for a long period of time.

  3. Our little budgie does the same thing!  It is the cutest sound. It means she is in a state of relaxation and contentment.  A budgie will do it before it falls asleep, but also when just happy. Feel good that you have a very content little bird!!

  4. This is normal. They do this when they are in a state of calmness, or when they feel very loved. Mine would do this when you would pet the back of their heads where they really loved it. Or when they are just completely satisfied. They also will do this when they have the opposite s*x in their cage. So yes, this is very normal. Do not worry.
