My budgie doesn't seem to be drinking water.?

Question

I recently bought my birds from petsmart along with two water bottles for the birds. They don't seem to be dring water or eating birdsead and I'm with them all day long. Is it possible that they don't know how to drink the water out of bottle? I know this because the water level is the same all day long.

First off, take into consideration that the first couple weeks after arriving home parakeets are very nervous. They will likely try to stay alert at all times, even at the cost of eating. This will pass as they get to trust you. If you are truly concerned about the water bottle, perhaps you could simply buy a water dish? Either way, they'll come to. Imagine being shipped to a world of giants- you may not want to eat right away either! :)

you should ask a vet or a member of the petstore. they might be sick.

I bought a bird from there too. But i let them be.. but i wasn't there all the time. So that gave him the time to find out what the stff is. I could possibliy look like the water level is that same. but they  could have taken a drink. When mine did the water level looked the same. Let them get use to the stuff. And they could be possibly eating and drinking when you are not there. If that doesn;t work. Take he/she back to seed if they are sick. Good Luck! XD
