  1. Probably not....you might want to take him to a vet...or maybe he is just molting........idk i just got mine.

  2. Feather plucking isn't uncommon is pet birds. Has long as he's not self-mutilating (tearing through his skin) he should be ok. Just keep in distracted.

If it gets any worse go to your birds' vet.

Many birds pluck as they mature into breeding condition. This is only temporary.

    Here are other possible reasons:

    Good Luck! Hope I helped!

  3. Feather plucking is unfortunately a common problem in pet birds, but it can be a serious one. The bird may damage the feathers so much that parts of its body remain bare for the rest of its life, or even start picking at the bare skin.

Take your bird to the vet to make sure it isn't being caused by some kind of illness, parasites or skin condition. Try talking to your vet to see if you can figure out any other reasons why he might be picking at himself. Try looking over the layout of the cage--you says he plays, does he have enough toys? A mirror to keep him company? Is there something else present in your home that could be causing anxiety?

  4. birds naturally hide illnessed and im very sorry to say that they are masters at it. i strongly suggest taking any bird if it shows any symtoms or possible illnesses such as plucking or loss of appetite but as i said they are experts at hiding an illness and by the time you do realize somethings wrong, it might be too late. its a survival technique that they use in th wild. take him to the vet and see what he says it wouldnt hurt to try and it could save your bird life s something were to be seriously wrong. i hope he feels better and i hope i helped :)
