  1. my parakeets did the same thing right now and what i did was take the male away and take everything she she plays with away it worked for me

  2. You are lucky she is still alive.  Be sure to keep a cuttle bone in her cage.

Cover her cage with a dark cloth, completely, by 6 pm.  Do not uncover until until 8 a.m.  Cutting down on daylight hours will do the trick.  You can vary the time but be sure she gets 14 hours of dark time a day.

I understand your concern.  If removing all nesting material, limiting daylight hours, and cutting down on her food does not work, see if you can find a Certified Avian Vet who might suggest a hormone like Lupron (if I remember correctly).   Good luck!

  3. Take anything that may be causing her to be in a breeding way. This could be a nest box, materials that could be used for nesting or "attractive" toys. If she is near a male try separating them for a while until it stops. This could just possibly be because she is in a hormonal stage. Get some vitamins for her(put into water) to keep her healthy and it shouldn't affect her life span.

  4. I had one that had the same experience too.She has probably found nesting materials such as[Newpapers lining.paper...]or u gave her a nest box that makes her want to lay eggs.erm does she have a male companion?if she does then it would be good news![u have lots of offsprings!]If not,it spells trouble. To prevent her from laying eggs again, either visit the vet to help u or u can remove newspapers and nest boxes.I have a book that teaches me all these.
