  1. There is nothing wrong with your bird is it a young one?

If this is the case she has now reached maturity and has come into breeding condition.

You may find that she will lay eggs as this often happens when they reach this stage,if their is no male then the eggs will not be fertile.

Make sure she has a good supply of Cuttlebone if this happens.

  2. If your budgies nose has just turned brown and looks a bit crusty, it could be a mite infestation, you can buy products from the pet shop that claim to treat this, I tried these last year with two of my budgies which didnt work and I had to take them to the vet to be treated so to save you time and money I would just take it to the vet in the first place.

It has to be treated as soon as possible as it can spread to their eyes and feet causing breathing difficulties, blindness, lameness and in severe cases death.

If it is just the colour it should be for a female then it should be pink, it could be a pinky brown but it will clearly be pink.

  3. It means its a girl, congrats!  There is nothing wrong with it at all.  As they get older, boys tend to be blue and girls noses get brown.*

  4. Hi,

its nothing to worry about it just means that its a girl and its ready to breed as normally hens ceres are white when they're out of condition.

  5. You've got a Miss Budgie!!!
