My bug bite is blotchy? help?

I got a bug bite and it itched like crazy so i scratched it a little and then the next day i went to the beach and into salt water

and it became this big blotchy area. It almost looks like a huge bruise.

Why did this happen? its been like 2-3 days whats going on?

  2. vinegar is the best for bites,dab some on your bite and i guarantee it will be gone in 2 days hun.x
