We are having our bathroom done up at the moment so we have a builder in. I've just heard voices outside my room and it turns out his whole family is in my house.... surely this isn't right!? I'm the only one in at the moment so I'm not sure if there is a reason they are here or not but hmmm I dunno!

  1. Go outside and just ask.

  2. Ask them about it. And, its your house so if you dont want them there, Kick them out.

  3. Is this contractor licensed? In most states you can demand to see a license, and if they can't produce it, you have the right to cancel any contract.

  4. that's disrespectful...i would drop a hint and when he is finished i would not use him again

  5. If they don't know that ur there, go into the room or hallway or whatever they r in act surprised. Then you'll have a reason 2 say " what r u doing here!?!?" After they explain, give them an excuse that u can't feed them all food, or there's too little room in the house. Then ask nicely if they can leave.

If they already know that u know that they r there:

Say hi, and stuff. Then tell them politely "what r u going here??"

Then follow what is above^(after " what r u doing here!?!?")

    Um... hope this helps!!

wow... that is soo scary... hearing voices

  6. Creepy! You need to let him no thats not ok or he is gonna have them there all the time.

  7. Be very straightforward and ask them what they are doing.

After numerous renovations in our house being polite when you think something is wrong is something you do not want to do.

It's a business relationship, the tradesmen is being paid for this job.  You are the boss and you make the rules.

  8. there is no reason for that !!! ask them who they are and why are they in your home!!!!

  9. if they are not there to work then politely ask them to f**k off.

  10. lol your question got me imagining u sitting on your bed and hearing voices! go out and ask whats up!

  11. Maybe he is just showing the family where he works before heading out to lunch.

  12. they are ****** *****. get them the h**l out of your house. wow..such a******s live in this world.

  13. wtf did he even ask if they could come by.  They just walked in?  F that.

  14. wtfoooook?> what about if they start to steal things?

    hhuh?

    u didnt think about that?

that is not proffesional at all.

tell them only builders are allound to work and ununsuraned person are all allound anyways,

what if one member of the family falls down the stairs, then u willl be sued, didnt think of that did u>

    huh

DONT FEEEL SHY, I AM AN ESTATE AGENT, AND IF SOMEONE IS ALREADY LIVIN IN A PROPERTY, I SAY SORRY ONLY THE PERSON WHO ARE TO BE LIVIN IN THE FLAT ARE ALLOUND, ENCASE THEY START TO STEAL,  DONT BE SHY

  15. Phone the person who's sorting out the bathroom,  (parents, contractor)  and then see what they say.

Make sure they don't nick anything. :D

  16. kick them out

  17. oh my god get them sorted!! just go out and say, oh, who are you? he then may explain why they are all here, and if his explanation is not good enough, tell him you'll take your custom else where if it happens again! that is so not on!!

  18. if they are actually doing something like refinishing your bathroom then you've nothing to worry about.  many people own their own contracting company and employ family members.  otherwise talk to the main guy about it.  surely he has a reason for it.

  19. It souns as if you are just about to have squatters for a few days..

Get the kettle on and get rid afterwards..Of them I mean..

  20. You are paying him to build not invite his family over for whatever. He should not allow anyone in your house without your permission.Go in and say 'excuse me ,is there a reason why work has come to a stop and who let all these people in?Should get his attention. When they are gone make sure he knows nobody comes in without your say.

  21. Are they working? But if they're only visiting I shouldn't throw them out, never upset your builder, he'll do a c**p job out of spite. Why don't you offer to make them all a cup of tea? They'll go home when they're hungry!!!

  22. I HAD THAT TOO!! You don't live in Rushden, Northamptonshire by any chance do you?! Maybe it's the same guy ...

  23. LOL.

They r making camp in your house.

    Are they polish buliders?

They tend to do that a bit.

  24. When we were having our garage converted into an extra bedroom, the workers would sometimes bring their kids. They were all Hispanic and  it was hard to communicate with them. The kids would play with all of our toys and eat our snacks. I don't really know why they would come, maybe it is just how the culture is wherever they are from.

  25. the workers shouldn't be in your house. they don't own the house so they have no right to be in there. usually workers come and go during the day and NOT spend the night. unless someone that has more authority then you has said the ok for them to stay, kick them out.
