  1. Itl hurt ther feet, the cage should have a solid floor, preferably wood

  2. Metal bars? If you just mean a wire bottom cage you're good. Most rabbits are kept in wire bottom cages since their droppings fall through and it is easier to keep the cage clean. If the wire is haf inch by one inch you're rabbit will be fine, it does not hurt their feet. Wire with bigger openings could let his/her feet through and possibly hurt you're bunny.

  3. You did the right thing unless you bought a giant breed( over about 11lbs) then they need a solid bottom. I own and breed rabbits(I have 15 full grown and 16 babies). They do need something to sit on though. Dry wall is good because its full of minerals and it helps to control the growth of their teeth. I know it sounds wierd but ive been doing it for the past 7 years. Make sure you trim their nails every few weeks so they dont snag on the floor.

  4. Yes, this is bad. Wire floors cause sore hocks and rabbits can't reingest their cecal pellets since they fall through the grating. Try building a C&C cage, it's cheap and easy:

They were originally designed with guinea pigs in mind but if you make a large one with a lid they work great for rabbits too.
