Out of all the bunny litters my rabbits have had (10) I never had a bunny build two separate nests with bunnies in them in one nest box. Is this gonna be okay? Will the babies in both nests get fed? I know the first nest has at least 3 kits in it. Im not sure about the second nest. But both nest were moving alot this morning. Anyone know if there is anything I should do? I havnt inspected the nest box much because my rabbit doe has been very skittish since I bought her and I dont want her to get nervous and the kits get harmed. So... I havnt got a good look in the box to count the babies or see if they are all being fed. They are almost 2 days old and are New Zealand X Himalayan. Any help, advise, or information would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I've never had that happen before, but as long as she doesn't ignore 1 nest it shouldn't be a problem.

If they are 2 days old and both nests are warm, and the babies have really round stomachs that means she is feeding them both and you have nothing to worry about. My rabbit is really skittish but she doesn't mind when I look in the nest; it shouldn't be a problem if you quickly check on them in the morning for the first few days. If you want to be extra safe then rub your hands all over the mom first so your hands smell like her when you look in the nests.

Good luck with the babies =)
