My bunny..?

Whenever I walk in the room my bunny starts jumping and running like insanely fast and crazy in his cage....He was abused by his owners that had him before us and I just want to know what it means when he does that. Is he happy that someones coming and giving him attention or is he scared I'm going to hurt him? Other than that he's calm when I pet him and feed him.

  1. I would guess that he's scared.  When you enter the room go quietly and don't make any loud noises, even talking.  Don't pet him until he realizes that you won't hurt him.  When you are able to enter the room with out him freaking out, then you can slowly stand next to his cage.  Once he allows you to do that, you can gently pet your fingers through the bars for him to sniff.  Once that's good, slowly and gently pet him, but only as much as he'll allow.  You need to be patient and considerate of his fears.  If you go about this process then he eventually he'll learn to trust you (as much as he is able depending on the amount of abuse).  Good luck.

  2. The rabbit prob has trauma from its old owners. Prob think your gonnna hurt it. When you go to see the bunny give a treat like banana and rub it on the head. That works for my bunnys when there stresed.

  3. bunnies do that when they are happy and excited

if the bunny is running (only) really quickly then it is scared

  4. Is it stamping it's foot? IF so that means he thinks you are danger. Sometime's my rabbits go bazerk, but that because they are happy.
