My business teacher told us abut a speical type of bank...what is it called????

Okay so my business teacher told me a few years ago that her husband worked for a speical type of bank that because it had no debt was able to pay very high salaries!! Even the janitors make 60k. But they do not advertise and you have to be recruited for positions. I was wondering if anyone knew what these type of banks were called...as i can't remeber the name and can't seem to find any info on them.
