I recieved a bill last year from my cable company with my correct first name and the wrong last name. I phoned customer service twice and talked to a representative both times, and they assured me the name was changed. Since then I have recieved about 10 bills, still with the wrong last name. I have paid them all, and didn't bother to call them again about it. Now I am moving and am cancelling my cable. Do I have to pay the last bill even though they didn't change the name, or will it go to collections and come back to me?

  1. Yes, you atill have to pay it because you owe them the money.  Yes it will come back to haunt you if you don't pay it.

  2. Did you give them your social security number?

  3. Pay your bill, but make sure your name has actually been changed, or the false last name will go down as an alias in your credit report.
