My cactus is 6 ft tall inside my home. the base is turning dark/brown and leaning. what's happening ?

the whole thing seems to be getting soft.

It's probably rotting. I don't know much about cactus care, but the amount of water you give it if any could affect it and maybe the light it gets.

It may just need a bigger pot.

My friend had one for years, it took 3 people to bring it outside in the summer.  Then it just died, They didn't have the space to put it in a yet bigger pot.
