My california kingsnake's size?

I've had him for about 7 months now. He has gotten pretty long, but not fat. How fat do they normally get? I feed him one hopper every week.

Not fat at all, but you should try feeding him more. I feed my corn snake, which is about the same size as a king, every 4 days.

On that diet, he'll stay pretty thin. Open up the feed bag & offer 3-4 fuzzies/ feeding. At 7 mo. this snake should not really be eating hoppers. Several smaller items are much easier to digest than one large item.
