  1. About how old is this king snake.  I've had my cali king for about 3 years now and he is quite docile unless he is shedding.  If you look closely at his skin, it will be turning a dull bluish color, especially around his eyes.  If he is indeed shedding just give him some time and raise the humidity in his tank by misting it every day to ease his time shedding.  Also make sure there is something he can rub up against.  In the mean time, do give him time to shed, they can't see as well and their appetite decreases when they shed.  Cali's can't really do to much damage if he struck you anyways, I've only been bitten once and it didn't feel much worse than velcro on my skin.

    Hope that helps

  2. The site I have provided below should be able to help you with your snake.  It includes care guidance and forums.

  3. Snakes will never be truly "tame", though many learn to tolerate handling.   Most reptiles are stressed by handling and some never get used to it.  How often do you handle him?  Daily sessions are better than once a week or so.  He may be digesting a large meal or getting ready to shed.  Give him a few days then try again.
