My camara some times formats my memory card for no reason?

It gives me an option format or don't format. I click don't format and the same options come up again. It could work fine for monthes and suddenly, it wants to format.My camara is an oylumpus. please help, i have lost a lot of pictures this way

Your card is corrupt and your camera is having trouble recognizing it. If you haven't already, pull off all the images on the card and reformat the card. Keep an eye on this card and go ahead and purchase another card. They aren't very expensive and it would be a good idea to have a second card in case this one goes completely kaput.

After formatting, if this keeps happening, it is time to retire this card.
