My camcorder is acting weird...?

Question

It's a Samsung SCD 86. I can't see anything through the lens. When I look in the eye piece or on the flip out lcd I can see the date but blank screen otherwise. As if the lens cover is on. When I push the digital zoom back and forth there is no sound. The menu does come up on the flip out screen, but not through the eye piece. What could be wrong? Maybe just needs a new lens?

maybe a broken pin-wire? hard to tell w/out diagnosing! i repair elec's.. bring it in and pay the minimum and then decide what to do from there!
