My camcorder is broken can it be fixed?

it's a cannon zr60 digital. The Lcd screen is just black it shows the display symbols but it just records darkness. I played around with the menu options buut it did nothing. Please help!

If the display symbols are showing but the image is black, the LCD is working fine.  Something else is wrong.  Ensure you are in the record mode.

The usual culprit is that the lens cover is closed - some camcorders have them internally installed.  Look for a slide or a switch with the pair of markings 'open' and 'close'.

If not, then then you may have a polarized filter on, and you just need to twist it until the image returns.

Many camcorders have a reset button or a reset setting in the menu.  Use it and see if the problem is fixed.

If not, you are at the worse possible scenario.  Your internal image chip, image sensor, or processing board is damaged.  This requires a trip to the shop.

you will have to take it in, like i did for my sony get on the canon website for a list of canon service ctrs. and go from there.
