  1. If this is a new camera and you are not familiar with its characteristics, check the manual to see if it has an auto-shutoff feature. To conserve the battery, some cameras will shut themselves down after a predetermined time if the camera is left idle without any controls being used. Look through the menus for a power saving setting.

If you have had this camcorder for some time and this shutdown behavior is not something this camera has always done, and you are sure you haven't accidentally changed a menu setting, then your possibilities are defective battery (even the new one), defective charger (not charging enough) or defective circuitry in the camera either drawing too much current from the battery, or shutting the camera down prematurely.

  2. Maybe the problems would be your battery.  DId you try charging your battery so that it is full.  If it is and your camcorder still shuts off, my suggestion would be simply to go back to where you purchased the camcorder and tell them the problem with it.  Im sure they'd be happy to help you in resolving the problem!

  3. It could be many reasons.

First, make sure your battery is fully charged.

Second, it could be your battery is running old, and you may need a replacement.

  4. Dead battery?  If the battery is old, it may have lost enough of its capacity that it doesn't hold more than a minute of charge.  Go to a retailer and see if they will let you test a new battery.
