Ok. I accidently formatted my camera card on my moms camera. And now when I put it in my camera it says the memory is full. (my camera is a Digital Concepts Camcorder) and when I put it in my moms (a Nikon Coolpix 3200) it says the card cannot be read. I put it on my computer and there were 126 folders and files some were named [][][][][][][][] and some were named q4[]6[]u[]p and one was even named @#%$#%&%%$^&. What do I do to fix it!! I really wanna take pictures again. 10 points best answer

  1. I guess you have now learned why you should never do that again.  It seems you now need to buy a new card.  Be more careful with the new one.

The format option is to make your camera recognize your card.  It sets up the files just right for your camera.  It's not something to play with and see what it does.  You ruined it.  Accept it, buy a new one and move on.  Live and learn.

  2. Have you tried formatting via your computer? That is using a card reader? If not, you can try that: go to Windows Explorer, locate your SD Card, Right-Click and choose Format.

Before formatting the card, you can try to recover your pictures using a Recovery tool, e.g:

Finally, if nothing works, then get a new card, they're pretty cheap these days. Good luck!

  3. put the card into your camera and reformat it. be patient because it may take a few tries to get it. what happened is you accidently erased a file that the camera inserts when you format the card. This file lets the camera know that the card belongs to the camera when its removed and reinserted.

  4. format it in your camera
