  1. Regular old AA batteries will simply not cut it with today's cameras. If you want to get any sort of battery life you'll need to get the high-capacity ones made specifically for digital cameras. It's even better if you can get rechargeable ones. If you do, get two sets of batteries so that one can be recharging while you're shooting with the other set.

  2. You might want to check the manual...ours has a mode where you can use an old time like viewer on top versus the 3 inch screen on the back, this uses way less battery.  Otherwise I would probably recommend using rechargeable batteries so you can save money.

  3. I assume it takes AA batteries. Buy 4 AA rechargeable batteries and a charger. This will cost you less than $20

The biggest energy user on your camera is the LCD screen. If you have a view finder use that and turn the LCD off.

  4. Digital cameras are designed to use intermittent power, the duration that the battery works is greatly depending upon your energy management skills. You need to learn to save the battery power,

    For instance:

    1. Turn off the LCD and use the viewfinder

    2. Minimize photo previewing

    3. Do not use continuous focus when not necessary

    4. Do not press the shutter button half way down for no reason.

    5. Carry another battery

You can get the battery from http://www.amazon.com. or get cheap OEM battery from some others, like

    http://www.canon-digital-camera-battery.... (UK)

    http://www.digital-camera-batteries.org/ (US)

in order to turn off the LCD, you can find the way in the manual

  5. HI there,

This is going to be short and to the point but.... running your videos with that LCD (and that is the ONLY way you can view them on your camera) is going to eat your batteries faster than spilling water.  There is no way around it.  It is nothing you are doing wrong and nothing you can do to stop it.   I might suggest you buy several (6) sets of rechargeable batteries and have them charged up when you to out to take pics.  They are still going to drain at the same speed,  but at least you don't have to keep buying new ones.

Also, other things that drain batteries quickly is to use the flash or to use the camera to computer cables with loading your pics to the computer.

    Hope I was helpful

    Thanks for reading.

  6. We don't know enough about the type camera you have,,If you are running videos with it then this is your problem cuz it really drains them but most cameras will run off of your battery charger instead of the battery to show videos if you got one with it.

  7. If you're using standard alkaline batteries, they won't last long in a digital camera. You can use lithium batteries which are expensive.

Better yet, use rechargeable NiMH batteries. There is a new version of the NiMH battery called "low discharge". I would recommend using those batteries as they have a longer shelf life than the standard NiMH batteries.

The Maha charger is a good quality charger for NiMH batteries.
