Question:

My camera says "lens error". How do I fix it?

I dropped my camera and now the lens won't go down. I turned it on, and it says "lens error." I am in the process of shoving the lens back into the camera, but I am weak and it's not quite working. I'm going to be killed if I break my camera by my parents, and it won't be pretty.

so does anybody have any fantastic ideas for fixing a digital camera?

  1. No ... there are no consumer repairable components on and cameras.

You will need to either buy a new camera or get the one you dropped repaired.

  2. Sorry...

when you get that lens error message, there's nothing that you can do besides send it it for a repair, which is going to cost you, it's not going to be free..

once you get that error, it means that the lens is damaged, and it needs to be repaired. Sometimes, you can fix it just by turning it on and off, but if that doesn't work, nothing will trust me, it's a very complicated error...

it's going to cost you around 100$, or more depending on which camera you have.. but it's not going to be free though.
