Question:

My camera won't upload pictures?

I have a Canon Powershot A75 Camera, and recently it will not upload pictures to my Dell PC. The correct software for the camera is installed, and it used to be able to upload pictures to the PC, but has stopped recently for some reason.

There is nothing wrong with the camera itself, as it will still upload pictures on to my laptop.

I'd really appreciate help on this. Thanks

  1. Does the camera have a memory card? If so, get a card reader and load them through the reader

  2. When you say upload, is it through the software?  Technically a camera behaves the same way as an mp3 player or usb flash stick.  When you plug any of these types of devices to the usb cord, then what happens is that the computer makes it appear as a new drive in My computer.  Plug it in and look at my computer. See if you have a new drive (Called Removable Drive) ie D: Removable Drive.  If it shows up then just simply double click on the drive (in My Computer) and navigate through any folders and find the pictures then drag them to your regular hard drive.

If you can't get it to appear on My Computer, then I'm not sure.  Maybe look under Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. See if something called Still Image service is enabled.
