along with her partner, a male, she has been protecting them and has been sitting on them around the clock. The 1st egg was laid 16 days ago, the 2nd @ 14 days, the 3rd @ 13days the 4th @ 12 days ago. As there seems to be no sign of any hatching, I'm disappointed but assuming now that they are infertile (or dead in shell)

How long should I wait for a possible hatching or is it time to remove the eggs?

  1. Just be patient and wait

  2. I think it take longer that 16 days. Leave them and let her determine if they are good or not.

  3. Your hen will not have started to brood the eggs till the last one was laid,so take 16 days from the last egg laid then allow 2 more days if they have not hatched by then check (candle them)to see if they are fertile.

    If not then discard them.

  4. I would leave them til she loses interest in them

  5. leave them a bit longer i have had this happen to me meany times . sum times the first couple off eggs wont hatch but the last 2-3 will ! i had a clutch off eggs that took 20 days to hatch they are now 9 days old ! so leave the eggs were they are for another week to make sure

  6. leave them for 2 more weeks if they dont hatch there in fertile

    good luck
