  1. The batteries themselves just may be getting old and losing the ability to hold a charge.

  2. It's not the camera. It's the batteries. Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries drain (at the rate of up to 1/2-1% per day) when not used, so always make sure you give them a top up charge at least a day before (or on the day) that you need to use the camera.

  3. As others have said, it is the batteries. Rechargable batteries lose their charge from sitting. You could try a new set of batteries. Mine usually last me almost a month.

As a side note, your camera has a recall on it for the CCD sensor. See link below. I think they are only fixing them if it goes out, but it is something you should know.

  4. I have had very good luck with the Sanyo eneloop AAs.   They come charged and hold their charge out of the camera.  And they seem to last longer in the camera, too.

  5. Probably not.  What is probably happening is the batteries are discharging on their own.  You can test this by charging four NiMH batteries and installing two in your camera and just let the others sit on your desk.  after a week or so, test both sets using either a volt meter or attempting to use both sets in the camera.  Typically, NiMH batteries do not hold their charge over long periods of time like Li-ion's do.

  6. The AA rechargeable batteries are kind of overrated, they really don't last that long.  They will work real good in the beginning and then die a pathetic painful life.

Have you tried the Energizer Lithium batteries. They are not rechargeable but they do last 7x times longer in cameras. They are a little bit more of an investment but they do last a lot longer.
