My car's engine light(the check light) is on. What should i have my car checking? I tried to remove the battery and put it back, the check light went off. After a couple of days, it is on again. What do i have to take my car to check for that problem? Thanks

  1. What kind of car do you have? How many miles have you put on the car? Most newer cars have an automatic sensor that goes off after a certain amount of miles

(ie: 90,000) This is to ensure you take it to the dealer for a full service. It does not mean there is necessarily anything wrong with your vehicle. If you have recently had a tune -up oil change etc. you should have nothing to worry about. I would take your car to the dealer and tell them you need your check engine light reset. Unless of course you think something may be wrong, then have them check it. I did this for my H3 and not only did they reset it but they showed me how to as well. They also did not charge me. Good luck!

  2. you dumb ****... if your kid says you need to talk to his teacher, then you should ******* talk to the teacher

if your car says it needs the engine tested... then take it to the facking car service to get the engine tested... holy ****

  3. Take it to auto zone and they'll check it for free.

  4. If you are asking how to check the problem yourself you can use a ODB code reader. If your car is 1996 or newer you will have ODB2 if it is older but not older than 1992 it will be ODB1 otherwise there was an earlier ODB but it wasn't as standardized. Like another person said you can take it to an auto parts store and they will most likely do this reading for free. The information you get from it may need a little more research if it is a complex problem and at that point I would suggest taking it to a mechanic. If the reader states a simple problem then you may be able to fix it yourself.

  5. You need to take it to a shop and let them use a scanner to find out what is wrong. to get an idea of what it is take it to a part store like napa and the will pull the code and tell you where to look and kind of where to start.
