My car amplifier wont turn on i tried grounding it somewhere else and it wont work???

i also hooked a different amp to it and still the other amp didnt turn on whats wronggg

  1. was the remote wire plugged in, or did it have a positive current?

    because there are 3 wires that go into an amp to have it turn on, a positive, ground, and remote.

    the remote is usually connected to the stereo. so when the stereo is turned on, it sends a positive charge to the amp using the "remote" wire and the amp turns on. when the stereo is off, the wire has no charge and the amp turns off.

    this wire can also be connected to the IGN or ACC in the vehicle if the user wants to have more control over the amp.
