My car audio / headunit is messed up?

idk whats wrong i bought a new headunit to replace my factory one. now i instaled the new one, didnt work. had other poeple try and do it themselves over and it still doesnt work. my power wire is not giving any power. what should i check or do for this probelm to be fixed?

  1. The first thing to check is all your vehicle fuses.  Most cars have at least two fuses in the fuse box that supply power to the audio system, and they aren't always labeled as "radio" fuses, so you need to check every fuse in the vehicle.  Don't forget to check fuse boxes under the hood.

    Blown fuses are probably the most common problem that comes up with do-it-yourself head unit installations, and it's amazing how many people run new wiring to the battery or fuse box instead of just replacing the fuses.


  2. take it back, or call the manufacture, it is probably defective......or to find out if it is your car or the stereo, try to hook it up in a friends car

  3. there should be two power wires, a constant and a switched

    if you need a constant (to keep memory) just tap on off from the battery

    if you need a switched just tap off from the fuse-box, i fuse that is only hot when the car is on to tell the radio when to turn on
