My car died and now when i try to start it it doesnt make any sound not even a click Please Help!!!!!!!!!!?

I had it jumped but nothing happened at all. On my way to school the radio started going on and off, then the speedometer started bouncing around then stopped and stayed at 0. I made it to school and after class went to try it again and it started but I didn't even get 1/4 a mile before it died. Please help does it need a new battery or is it the alternator.

If it was the battery when u got it  jumped it would of turn over at least .But to me it sounds like the alternator  went bad  because of the power loss from the radio,u said.Take the battery to a auto store to see if its holding a charge.If it pass, move to the next part to get check.Last if the alternator pass,check or change( core packs )or (ignition) both are different.Find out which one the car have.

The alternator does sound like the culprit. However you could have a loose wire going to the alternator. I would take the alternator out and take it to AutoZone(or the like) to get it bench tested. They offer this service for free. This would indicate if you need another alternator or not. It is only a few bolts and you can disconnect the wiring harness.

Your alternator charges your battery, if you have a constantly dead battery, you probably have a bad alternator. However, it doesn't always have a dead battery to mean a bad alternator.

A battery is only used for inital start, if your car was acting "wonky" while driving, the battery isn't the culprit. It sounds like your car is running off your battery (which it shouldn't) and then the battery can no longer keep up with the vehicles needs and the car dies out. Alternators are not too much money.. you can check out SummitRacing.com. They aren't all race equipment.. they have stock alternators. Good luck!
