I was taking someone home last night and I was on a dead end street so I had to turn around in order to get out. So, I put it in reverse backed it up in a driveway then put it in drive and with no warning the engine died. All the lights in the car were still running and it started right back up with out hesitation. This is the first time that it has happened to me, I got the car about a month ago. It is an 88 Pontiac Bonneville LE Fuel Injected.

It has a service engine soon light on and I got it checked out at Autozone and they told me that it was a code "41".

Any ideas as to what the code "41" means and if it has a direct relation as to why my car died?

  1. Code 41 is an oxygen sensor. It would definitely make your car die and allow it to start right back up!

  2. that's got to suck......

where are you going to bury it now...lol
