My 2007 Pt cruiser convertible got damaged last night, since it was storming like crazy. It`s nothing really big, it has two dings on the hood, and few on right side fender, but one of them is so deep that it almost made a hole in the metal, and i think whole fender needs to be replaced. I never made claim on my insurance before, and i`ve heard once you do that they will increase your policy and monthly payment. Plus, i am with the worst: Allstate. They already promised me first accident forgivness, and once i actually cancelled my statefarm policy (they were perfect), i discovered that they gave me another plan and told me i don`t qualiffy for accident forgivness one. Loosers.

So once again, i wanted to ask if i claim this damage on my insurance will my premium go up? What are your experiences?

  1. This isn't an accident, if you have full coverage, it is listed under comprehensive and your rates won't go up if you haven't been making lots of claims on that part of your coverage. If you don't have the coverage, don't bother calling the insurance, make an appointment at the body shop and pay thru the nose

  2. What hit your car to do the damage?  If it was flying debris - it should be covered under comprehensive and will not count against you.
