my car handbrake has just failed, and I've rolled into someone on a hill, which has damaged my car. Would the warrenty cover the repair?

  1. yes,all recalls are coverd by the makers....a recall is basically a design fault and must be fixed....

That is something your insurance company will look into.  But to be honest, I doubt it.  You shouldn't ever count on JUST your parking brake to hold your car when parking, especially when parking on a hill.  It should have the tires turned so that if the car does roll, the curb will catch it, and it should be in park if an automatic transmission, or in low or reverse if a stick shift.

  3. Yes, it can.  Plus you can get out of being at fault for the accident with the recall information.

  4. Tell your insurance company what happened and they will research to figure out who is responsible. They'll do it all for you. It won't be you. You did all you could already.

  6. yes if it's new, and you secured the hand brake the manufacturer is to blame, i believe, although they'll try to get out of it
