My car has curtain airbags. I pulled the liner back a little and actually saw it. But it does'nt say SRS curtain anywhere just on the seat but it only says side airbag. I don't get it I thought all cars said it if they had curtain airbags. Will someone please explain??

  1. In the 90's when airbags became the 'norm' in cars, they either said SRS or AIRBAG.

The reason that it doesn't say SRS or AIRBAG is that unlike traditional front end airbags, there isn't that hazard for small children sitting in the front end. Curtain airbags are designed specifically to come straight down, nowhere in the area of the passengers area. So, there is no hazard of a small child getting whacked in the head and smushed back against the seat there.

Simple answer: Because of the airbag design, there isn't a danger to small occupants, therefor no warning is needed.

  2. Some cars do and some cars do not say SRS for the side air bags........
